The company Praktiker Hellas AE, a member of Praktiker AG which is activated in 8 European countries with 340 stores, introduced in 1991 for the first time in Greece the philosophy “Do-it-Yourself” by offering practical and cheap solutions to the professional but also to the amateur who wants to construct, renew, equip or decorate his premises.

In the first years, until the end of 1995, the first phase for the development of the Company network was completed with 2 more stores in Athens (Tavros, Egaleo), 1 in Thessaloniki, 1 in Larissa and 1 in Patra.

During subsequent years, the company focused its efforts in optimizing its range, to constantly adapting to the market needs and trends and to maturing relations with its customers.

The layout of the stores was renewed, the presentation of products was improved and particular gravity was given to customer service through the provision of various supplementary services.

In 2001 the Metamorfosi store opens and 2006 is marked by the opening of the 8th store in Volos which constitutes the starting point of new expansion phase of our company with intermediate size stores, in commercially important regions of Greece.

In July 5th 2007, one more store opens in the city of Ioannina following the concept of the intermediate size store expansion, and at the end of the same year its 10th store opens in Mandra Attikis.

In July 2008 the 11th store opens in the city of Kalamata, the second in Peloponnese.

The company, by following with consistency a strategy of constant quest and improvement for the products and services provided to the customer, it goes through an ascending course of positive results, of strengthening its image in the Greek market and of founding trusting relations with its associates.

Today Praktiker Hellas is the No 1 Network of technical Department Stores in Greece, with a total store area of 70.874 m2 and with more than 1,600 employees.

This successful course of Praktiker Hellas is owed to the fact that it manages to cover the needs of all its customers, as this change and evolve with the passing of time, by providing a complete spectrum of choices to the amateur constructor, to the professional craftsman but also to the entire family. The epicentre of products consists of the classic items of a technical equipment store, such as timber, plumbing fixtures, tools, and structural materials. At Praktiker however the customer can find as well house equipment goods, electric goods, decoration materials and accessories for a more beautiful home, which complement the range of Praktiker and cover the needs of the entire family. The variety of Praktiker is completed with the category of gardening goods. The customer can choose what suits him for the layout of his veranda or his garden within the attractive garden centres that Praktiker has created in each one of its 11 stores.
